Epilepsy Safe-Bed Under Mattress Sensor - PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION
$0.00
The Epilepsy Safe-Bed Under Mattress Sensor is a patented state-of-the-art system that monitors sleepers for convulsive seizures from under the mattress or beneath the mattress overlay: there is no body contact with the sensor at all.
Description
Sensing the differences between normal body movement and muscle jerking caused by a seizure, the Epi-Assist will alert the person sleeping with an alarm or send a message to a family member or carer.
This versatile product can be used for many conditions, including dementia as it can be programmed to raise an alarm if the person has left the bed and doesn’t return within a set time.
The Emfit laboratory in Finland pioneered the Quasi-Piezoelectric L-4060SL sensor, the patented dynamic thin film ferro-electric sensor; it is a state-of-the-art monitoring system that will monitor from under the mattress a sleeping adult or child who is at risk of a convulsive tonic-clonic seizure.
The sensor technology detects and distinguishes between normal movements from strong muscle jerking such as tonic-clonic seizures and acknowledges the presence and absence of micro-movements caused by breathing and heart beating.
Not only does the sensor give notification to a caregiver when the person has the clonic phase of a tonic-clonic seizure but also when the person leaves the bed (feature can be disabled) by a fall or not returning to their bed within a given timeframe.
The controller D-1090-2G has an audible alarm with adjustable volume and dry-contact relay output for connection to a wireless chime / personal pager to a family member that lives in another part of a home. For people living alone, the D-1090-2G controller will alert an emergency eAlert telephone to automatically dial pre-programmed numbers and give a recorded message to family or emergency services that a seizure is taking place.
